What is Cold Process Soap?

Cold process soap is a handmade soap created by mixing Oils and / or Butters with a sodium hydroxide (lye) solution. This chemical reaction, called saponification, happens naturally without external cooking heat.

Just as hydrogen and oxygen chemically bond to create water H2O; oils or butters react with an alkaline solution (lye) in a process called saponification to create soap.

The liquid mixture is poured into molds, cut into bars, and cured for 4 to 6 weeks
